Democratic voters in Washington State have chosen to send a message to President Biden that they are uncommitted to his policies towards Gaza, Palestine, and the funding of Israel’s military operations. The Uncommitted Delegates movement stands at over 101,000 voters in Michigan, 45,000 voters in Minnesota, 10,000 votes in Tennessee, 50,000 in Colorado, 59,000 in Massachusetts, 88,000 in North Carolina, a whopping 29.1% of primary voters in Hawaii, and now at LEAST 48,000 in Washington State. We expect to see even more in the coming days because, as a mail-in state, our notoriously late progressive voters swing results left as the days roll on. We expect to know more comprehensive results by Friday.

Uncommitted WA lead organizer and spokesperson Rami Al-Kabra made the following statement:

“Our grassroots, Palestinian- and Muslim-led, multi-racial, multi-faith, anti-war movement of Democratic voters uncommitted to Biden’s funding of war in Gaza emerged victorious tonight. With just $20,000 and two weeks of campaigning, we are set to far surpass our goal of 12,000 votes, which is double the number of ‘Uncommitted’ votes in 2020. Due to our mail-in voting system, we do not expect to see a final tally until near the end of the week, with the post-election day count likely to swing left.”

“Tonight’s numbers show that President Biden’s current policies towards Gaza and Palestine are not in line with his voting base. Democratic voters want a permanent ceasefire and an end to America’s unconditional funding of Israel’s military. More than 48,000 Washingtonians made it clear that Democrats are uncommitted to President Biden so long as he continues to support and fund the violence happening in Gaza.”

Uncommitted Washington’s lead organizer Faheem Khan made the following statement:

“Tonight, Washington proved that being Uncommitted to Biden for as long as the violence in Gaza continues is a popular sentiment among Democrats everywhere, including in one of the bluest states in the nation. Thousands of volunteers across the country helped us achieve these results, all within just a few days’ time. Mobilizing so many people so quickly would not be possible if support for the Uncommitted movement wasn’t so widely and passionately felt.

Voters have strongly rejected Biden’s funding of Israel’s war in Gaza at the polls. Washington is proof that they will continue to do so until the Biden Administration changes course and calls for a permanent ceasefire and stops their unchecked funding of Israel’s genocide with our tax dollars.”
